Definitions Of Medical Terms : Common Terms / Slang Anabolic = promoting anabolism Anabolic steroid = any one of several compounds derived from testosterone or prepared synthetically to promote general body growth, to oppose the effects of endogenous estrogen, or to promote masculinization effects.
